KNIGHTS SWEEP SISKIYOUS IN GVC SERIES

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's baseball team won a three-game Golden Valley Conference series against visiting College of the Siskiyous. 

The Knights won 16-3 on the road, the two games Saturday were postponed and then won 10-3 and 6-5 on Sunday to complete the sweep. 

Jaden Gorge went 8 for 12 in the three games with five RBIs and five runs scored to lead the offensive outburst for the Knights. 

Shasta 16, Siskiyous 3 
The Knights scored a season-high 16 runs and racked up 20 hits. Gorge went 4 for 6 with two RBIs and two runs, Payton Jeffries was 3 for 6 with two RBIs, Nick Horsely was 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs, Cody Emmons was 2 for 6 with a double, three RBIs and two runs, Josh Taylor scored three runs, Keanu Mizuta was 2 for 4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs, and Luke Staton had a double. Jordan Akins got the win on the mound after striking out five and walking three while giving up two runs on six hits.  

Shasta 10, Siskiyous 3 
The Knights blew the game open with a four-run third inning and got behind Kolby Button on the hill for the win. Button struck out five and walked none while allowing three runs on seven hits in seven innings to get the win. Zac Billlingsley threw two scoreless innings of relief. Gorge was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, two runs and two stolen bases, Taylor had a double and two runs, Jeffries scored twice and walked three times, and Mizuta was 1 for 4 with a run. 

Shasta 6, Siskiyous 5 
The Knights scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth to rally for the sweep. Gorge singled in Emmons, Mizuta drew a bases-loaded walk and Staton drove in two runs on a pinch-hit walk-off single. Gorge was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run and Mizuta and Mason Wood each had a hit and drove in a run. Cameron Falcon got the win on the mound with five strikeouts, three walks and three runs on six hits in 7.1 innings.  

Shasta improves to 5-4 in GVC play and 7-17 overall.
