Bakersfield, CA – The Renegade Men's Basketball team hosted Santa Monica College at the Gil Bishop Sports Center on Saturday night and came away with a close 69-63 loss.

Throughout the first five minutes of the game both teams maintained an equal tempo, until Santa Monica took off on a run and managed to get out in front by as much as 13 at times. The Renegades were unable to maintain offensive flow and by half found themselves down by 11, 33-22.

Santa Monica kept the momentum and maintained the lead to begin the second half. BC would not go away quietly however, and came storming back to get within one with six minutes left. Down the stretch the Renegades could not keep the Corsairs offense from scoring and Santa Monica handed BC their sixth conference loss of the season.

Leading the Renegades offensively Tyrell Coleman with 18 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. Isayas Aras added 16 points with 5 rebounds.
