Men’s Basketball Drop Home Opener

TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College dropped its home opener 71-56 to L.A. Pierce Wednesday night at the ECC North Gym.

The Warriors (0-2) struggled to take care of the ball, turning the ball over 24 times against the Brahmas (3-1) resulting in 28 points for L.A. Pierce. The Brahmas also outscored the Warriors 17-6 on the fastbreak.

Sophomore Jamal Howard led the Warriors offensively with 23 points while Corey Madison added 20 points. The duo combined to shoot 15-for-25 but unfortunately for the Warriors, the rest of the team combined to go 5-for-22 from the field.

Madison hit five of his six attempts from 3-point range while the Warriors went 7-for-15 from distance.

For the Brahmas, Max Edwards led the way with 21 points on 7-for-11 with Dallas Johnson and E.J. Bushner adding 11 points apiece in the victory.

The Warriors will return to action Friday night as they host San Diego Mesa at the ECC North Gym. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
