The MSJC baseball team improved to 4-1 last week as they swept a home doubleheader on Thursday against West LA, before dropping a close game to El Camino on Saturday.

Thursday the Eagles used solid pitching and timely hitting to pick up 5-3 and 6-4 wins over West LA.  In game one Aidan Magana pitched 4 and 2/3 innings allowing just one earned run and knocked in a pair of runs at the plate as the Eagles won the seven inning contest.  Robert Jacobsen and DJ Graham both also knocked in a run in the victory.  Johhny Silva came in to pitch the final 2 1/3 innings allowing just one hit to earn the save.

In game two Garrett Teunissen blasted his third homerun of the season and drove in three runs to lead the MSJC offense.  He also started the game on the mound and gave the Eagles three innings of shut out pitching.  Andre Torres would end up earning the win on the mound as he pitched the final 2 1/3 innings allowing just one hit.  Kyle Serna and Graham both had a double in the game and Will Potter and Gavin Copeland each drove in a run.

Saturday the Eagles let a 6-3 lead get away in the final two innings as they lost at El Camino 7-6.  Jacobsen knocked in two runs on a pair of hits including a double while Copeland added two hits and 3 walks.  Anthony Ponce took the loss on the mound for the Eagles.

MSJC will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Irvine Valley at 1 pm.
