Men's Soccer Keeps Conference Title Hopes Alive With Victory Over Citrus

Bakersfield, CA – On Sophomore Day the Renegade Men's Soccer team hosted Citrus College in a Western State Conference South matchup and came away with a 2-1 victory that keeps them in the hunt for the WSC South Conference Title.

Jaden Lee opened the scoring in the eighth minute after taking an Edgar Gonzalez pass in the left corner of the box and slotted it between the goal keeper and the left post for his first goal of the season. Citrus tied it back up in the 15th minute sneaking a goal past goalkeeper Armando Alvarez.  Bakersfield added another goal before halftime after a pass from Edgar Gonzalez along the end line that Gilberto Guevara headed into the back of the net.

Alvarez made a few key saves in an otherwise tough defensive and scoreless second half to preserve the victory and keep the Renegades conference title hopes alive.

With the win, the Renegades improve to 9-7-3 overall and 3-2-2 in conference. With the WSC South title still on the line, their final regular season game of the year will be on the road against Canyons this Friday (11/15) at 3:00pm.
