Hawks close out non-conference schedule with 2-0 win over Diablo Valley

LIVERMORE – The Las Positas College women's soccer team is heating up just at the right time.

After consecutive losses, the Hawks have gotten back on track by going 2-0-1 over their last three games, including a 2-0 victory over visiting Diablo Valley College on Tuesday.

LPC is 6-3-1 overall as they head into Coast Conference North Division play. The Hawks travel to Hartnell College for a 4 p.m. game on Friday (Sep. 30).

Tuesday saw Las Positas and Diablo Valley battle to a scoreless first half. But the Hawks broke through in the 58th minute, getting a goal from Cebrina Chagoya off the assist from Isabel Mello and Irie O'Donnell.

O'Donnell sealed the Las Positas victory with her goal in the 69th minute, getting the assist from Chagoya and Tiffani Cheng.

Ava Buckles earned the shutout in goal for the Hawks, their second straight and sixth overall of the season.

LPC has outscored its opponents by a 22-8 margin this season.
