After an impressive win by 23 points over San Jose in its Coast-North opener on Jan. 11, the Chabot women's basketball team will host Las Positas (6-9, 1-1) at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16.
The women's game tips off a doubleheader between the two schools, preceding the Las Positas-Chabot men's game at 7 p.m.
The Chabot women are ranked seventh in the CCCWBCA North Region Poll, and 16th in the state.
Zakiya Mahoney had a double-double of 19 points and 17 rebounds in the 75-52 victory over San Jose. After San Jose led 18-12 through one quarter, Chabot surged into control with a 28-6 run in the second quarter, never looking back.
Kim Masulit added 15 points and Kendra Jueitt had 13 points and seven boards in the balanced effort.
Mia Finnie came off the bench for 10 points, and Ferryn Steen stepped in to grab seven boards.
