The MiraCosta women's volleyball team started conference play and earned their sixth win in seven outings.  The talented Spartan team improves to 6-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

Balance was the theme for the Spartans against Southwestern on Friday night.  In a quick three set win the Spartan attack was led by Cameron Martinez (8 kills), Aria Barker (7 kills), Madison Nichols (7 kills) and Savannah So'oto (6 kills.)  Summer Hoslett and Giulia Cefalu distributed the ball with 14 and 12 assists respectively. Four Spartans finished with double digit digs, Nichols (23), So'oto (12), Martinez (11) and Paola Peralta (10).

The Spartans are next in action at home on Wednesday, September 22, against conference rival Grossmont College. Both teams have been ranked in the top 20 and expect to compete for a conference championship.
