Palomar and Southwestern make the CCCAA WBB Tournament

The California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) released its Southern California Regional Tournament seeds on Sunday, and two programs from the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) were included in the field.  Palomar College and Southwestern College will both get a shot at competing for a state title.

Palomar was a dominating force in the PCAC this season.  The Comets finished 24-2 overall and were a perfect 14-0 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play.  Palomar earned the No. 4 seed for the tournament and will receive a bye for the opening round on Tuesday.  The Comets will host Los Angeles Trade Tech (11-15) in the second round on Thursday evening.   The winner would face the winner of Cypress College (18-10) and Glendale College (19-5) on Saturday night for a spot in the state tournament.

Southwestern College finished 22-6 overall and tied for second place in PCAC play at 11-3.  The Jaguars earned the No. 19 seed for the tournament and will play an opening round game on Tuesday at Mt. San Jacinto College (21-5).  The winner of the game will travel to Moorpark College (22-3) on Thursday for a second round matchup with the Raiders.
