No. 17-ranked Citrus College continued its historic season, dominating a 40-14 victory over West LA Saturday.

The Owls remain undefeated at 8-0 overall and 3-0 in the American Metro League. The Wildcats drop to 3-5 on the year and 1-2 in conference action.

Citrus finished with 472 total yards of offense, including 327 passing yards.

Adam Urena, who already set a new program record for most career touchdown passes earlier this year, tied another program record after throwing three touchdown passes. It pushes his total to 27 on the year to tie the single-season record.

Elijah Finney finished with 18 carries for 115 yards including two touchdowns. Robert Vega had four catches for 92 yards and three touchdowns.

Defensively, Cody Stordahl had six tackles and a quarterback hurry, while Elijah Robinson and Joseph Lopez each added five tackles. Joshua Garcia had two sacks in the game, while Jason Reynolds added another.

Urena got the scoring going with a four-yard pass to Vega in the first quarter before Jose Valdez tacked on an extra point, 7-0.

Finney increased the Owls' lead early in the second with a three-yard touchdown before Isaiah Loera came up big on defense. After Evan Richardson blocked a Wildcat field goal attempt, Loera scooped up the ball in the Owls' endzone and ran 100 yards the other way for a touchdown.

Just before halftime, Finney broke through multiple West LA tackles to break free for a 49-yard touchdown run, putting Citrus up 26-0.

The scoring spree continued in the third as Urena found Vega for a 35-yard touchdown pass and Kosuke Kayahara converted the point-after-touchdown to put the Owls up 33-0.

West LA managed to get onto the board with a touchdown to end the third, but Citrus got back its upper hand with another Urena to Vega touchdown in the fourth. The Wildcats struck once more before the game ended but the Owls closed out the game to grab the 40-14 victory.

Citrus head to Glendale College on Saturday in what could come down to the conference championship. Both the Owls and the Vaqueros boast an undefeated AML conference record heading into the matchup.
