Sierra College Women's Volleyball opened conference play Friday, Sep. 14 against Diablo Valley. The Wolverines recorded a 3-0 straight set win over the visiting Vikings to improve to 8-2 overall, 1-0 in the Big 8. Sierra entered conference play riding a three-match win streak, recording 3-0 victories over De Anza, San Mateo and Foothill before facing DVC.

Sierra's Gabby Roberts and Meghan Merlino led the Wolverines in number of kills (9 each) with Roberts recording the highest match kill percentage at .316 on the evening. Madison Meteer was a close third with 8 kills and Kapri Pelle had 7, all contributing to the 40 total kills recorded by the Wolverines, who out killed the Vikings by nearly double (DVC recorded 24).

Alyssa Orteza contributed 10 digs (a third of Sierra's 27 of the night) as well as two assists, while Ashley Almond took care of business by assisting the remaining 32 times, combining for Sierra's 34 assists on the evening.

Sierra will host American River College Wednesday night (September 19th) in their second Big 8 match of the year, match time is 6:30pm at Goto/Goldenberg Court.
