SAN FRANCISCO – A promising 2021-22 City College of San Francisco women's basketball season came to a crushing close with an 88-73 loss to No. 6 seeded College of the Sequoias in Round 3 of the Northern California Regional Playoffs on Saturday.
The Rams, seeded No. 3 for the NorCal playoffs, came up just one win short of advancing to the state championships.
CCSF was down 24-18 after the first quarter and found itself trailing for the majority of the contest. Talo Li-Uperesa posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Teuila Tuiasosopo came off the bench to post 14 points and 7 rebounds.
Rianna Lee added 11 points, Amira Lama scored 9 points, and Stacy Angel-Haro had 8 points.
Despite the loss, the Rams turned in another impressive season. CCSF captured its sixth straight Coast Conference North Division championship and ended with a 21-6 overall record under head coach Derek Lau.
