Softball Claims Two Wins on the Season

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield College softball team hosted a three-way featuring Pasadena City College and Fullerton College on Friday at the Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex. BC took on the Lancers first and won 11-10 from a walk-off single. The Renegades wrapped up the night claiming their second win of the day over the Hornets, 3-1. 

In the first game, the Renegades built up an early five-run lead in the second inning. Bakersfield's defense held the Lancers 7-run comeback then Anika Romo hit a single to end the game. Kadyn Smith allowed six hits and six runs over four innings, striking out four batters for the day. 

In the second game, Fullerton got on the board taking a one-run lead until Smith hit a solo homerun to tie the ball game in the 4th inning. BC took the lead in the following inning with three-runs and kept their lead to the end of the game. 

Bakersfield moves to 8-5 on the season and will be back at home on Tuesday, February 21st to take on Citrus at 2:30pm to begin conference play.
