Mustangs erupt for 14 runs in seventh inning to complete sweep of Folsom Lake

The Delta offense broke open a what was a fairly tight 4-2 lead in the seventh inning when they sent twenty men to the plate. Thirteen of the fourteen runs came with two outs in the inning. The Mustangs took advantage of fourteen walks combined with fifteen hits on the day. Vinny Bologna continued his torrid pace going 3-3 with a double and 3 rbi. Jimmy McCleneghan went 2-2 with an rbi, and Dario Gomez was 3-4 with two doubles and an rbi. 

Noah Denoyer got his first start of the season on the mound. Denoyer earned the win going 5 2/3 innings allowing just five hits, two runs while fanning eight. Troy Wentworth and Joey Morris combined for 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. 

The win improves Delta's record to 25-6 overall and moves them back into first place in the Big 8 with at 11-4. Folsom falls to 4-11 in Big 8 play and 14-15 overall.

Delta will go to American River on Tuesday to begin a three game series with the Beavers (2-13, 5-26). Game time is 2:30 on Tuesday.
