The rubber match between district rivals Sac City and FLC was played in front of a good-sized crowd on Friday evening at "the Lake", but the home team fans were quickly quieted when the Panthers opened the game with a 40-minute first inning that saw 12 runs cross the plate. The Panthers took advantage of 4 walks, 3 passed balls, a wild pitch, and banged out 8 hits – including 2 home runs – to ruin the Falcons' night in the first inning. Meanwhile, the Falcons were held to just five hits for the game as City cruised to a 20-4 victory. The Falcons (12-5 overall, 1-2 in Big 8) will look to get back on track when they travel to Diablo Valley (5-11 overall) on Tuesday afternoon.
