Sophomore wide receiver Jeffrey Weimer had seven receptions for 136 yards, including three touchdown passes from sophomore quarterback Jack Newman, to help lead City College of San Francisco to a 42-21 non-conference victory at Modesto Junior College on Saturday.

The Rams improved to 3-0 thanks to an offense that shows no signs of letting up. CCSF totaled 473 yards, including 419 passing yards from Newman. He completed 27 of 40 attempts and threw four TDs.

Modesto (2-1) drove for a touchdown on its opening possession to take an early 7-0 lead, but from that point it was all CCSF. Calel Olicia-Aramboles put momentum back on the side of the Rams, returning the ensuing kickoff 92 yards for an electrifying touchdown.

Newman and Weimer connected for touchdown passes to close out a pair of drives and a 21-point first quarter for CCSF.

Newman threw his third TD, this time a 32-yard strike to Daelin DeGraffenreid at the 13:43 mark in the second to give CCSF a commanding 28-7 lead.

The Rams were held scoreless in the third, but came back alive after Modesto rallied for 14 unanswered points to get within seven points at 28-21.

In the fourth, Weimer's 19-yard touchdown reception from Newman capped a seven-play, 65-yard drive to give the Rams some added breathing room at 35-21 with 11:45 to play. And Shawn Allen's nine-yard TD run midway through the fourth iced the victory.

Allen led San Francisco on the ground with 16 carries for 45 yards. DeGraffenreid had four catches for 75 yards and a touchdown.

The Rams return home next Saturday (Sep. 25) to host American River College in another matchup of top teams in the state. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at George M. Rush Stadium.
