W. Basketball; Eagles Roll to Win Over Barstow

The MSJC women's basketball team won big on Wednesday night as they got off to a fast start and cruised to an easy win over visiting Barstow 120-30.

The Eagles jumped out to a 36-8 advantage after the first quarter and continued to build that lead all the way to 62-13 by halftime.  MSJC would go on to out score the Vikings 27-13 in the third and 31-4 in the fourth to get the victory.

Six Eagles reached double figures in scoring led by an outstanding game from Deja Blue who had a game high 28 points, she also had 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 steals.  Haylei Janssens continued her solid play on the season with her 18th double double as she scored 27 points and hauled in 10 rebounds.  De'Adra Ross also had a double double with 10 points and a game high 16 rebounds as the Eagles dominated the glass all night as they out rebounded the Vikings 63-22.  Diamonere Butler came off the bench to score 17 points while Kiana Castello scored 13 and Mariah Sanchez had 11.  The Eagle bench had 50 total points in the game.

The win improves the Eagles to 21-2 overall on the season they are now 8-0 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference games.  Barstow fell to 2-17 and 1-6.  The Eagles have the weekend off before traveling to Victor Valley next Wednesday for a 5 pm game.  MSJC returns home next Saturday February 8th when they host Chaffey College at 1 pm.
