Late Goals Lift Mt. SAC Men's Soccer to Win Over Rio Hondo, Undefeated Streak Remains Intact

(Walnut, CA) Rio Hondo College (5-8-4, 1-3-2) jumped out to an early lead against host Mt. SAC (14-0-2, 5-0-1), but the Mounties responded with three unanswered goals in the second half to earn a 3-1 South Coast Conference win on Tuesday night.

Gerardo Cazares scored Mt. SAC's first goal on an assist from Guilherme Farias in the 78th minute to tie the match. Two minutes later, in the 80th minute, Herminio Padilla found the net on an assist from Farias to put the Mounties up for good, 2-1. Padilla added an insurance goal in the 85th minute on an assist from Anthony Vargas.

Los Angeles Harbor College (2-6-10, 2-2-3) will visit the Mt. SAC Soccer Complex on Friday, Nov. 1, at 4 p.m. for an SCC contest against the Mounties, who are looking to extend their unbeaten streak.
