Citrus College put runs on the board, but it wasn't enough to overcome Fresno City College Friday afternoon as the Owls fell 22-8 to the Rams in five innings.

The Owls drop to 0-7, while the Rams improve to 5-5.

Citrus had a big inning of its own in the bottom of the second, scoring three runs to try to keep the game close. Andrea Apodaca drilled the first home run of the season to lead off and Alexandra Banuelos hit a two-RBI double to put the Owls within six, 9-3.

Despite the Rams tacking on more runs, the Owls kept swinging and scored once again in the bottom of the fifth. Isabella Ramirez had an RBI single and Melanie Barba tripled to send two in, before Arianna Villegas also had an RBI single.

Fresno got the third out before Citrus could plate any more, ending the game 22-8 in five innings.

The Owls look to bounce back on Saturday as they head to Santiago Canyon for a 1:00 p.m. start.
