Bear Cubs Out Hit San Jose But Fall in 8 Innings

Santa Rosa Junior College fell 5-4 to San Jose City College Jaguars on Tuesday despite out-hitting them 11 to eight. In the first inning, Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs got their offense started. Hannah Hosier drove in one when Hosier singled. In the top of the seventh inning, Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs tied things up at four when Cayla Nixon singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Chelsea Rayment led the San Jose City College Jaguars to victory in the pitcher's circle. The bulldog lasted two and a third innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out one.

Abby Mendoza took the loss for Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs Mendoza allowed four hits and two runs over four innings, striking out four. Mandy O'Keefe started the game for Bear Cubs . The righty went three innings, allowing three runs on four hits Liberty Walker started the game for San Jose City College Jaguars. The fireballer lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing ten hits and three runs while striking out one Bear Cubs tallied 11 hits on the day. Anna Zoia-BuescherHosierOlivia Gabriel, and Haley Titone all had multiple hits for Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs Zoia-Buescher went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs in hits.

San Jose City College Jaguars racked up eight hits on the day. Jessell Lewis and Melissa Felix each racked up multiple hits for San Jose City College Jaguars.
