Cold shooting left Chargers packing for the season

Cypress, CA - The Raiders went into Cypress and took advantage of the Chargers' cold shooting and eliminated them from the tournament.  In the first 8:00 minutes of the game, the Chargers too a 13-3 lead and appear to take control of the game. However Moorpark fought back to be down only by 13 at the half. Meanwhile Cypress only shot 26% in the first 20 minutes. Sloan Turner scored 8 points and pulled down 8 boards and had 5 blocks. Her counterpart Riley Abraham was 0-for-6 from the floor but had 11 boards. Despite leading 26-13 at the half, the Chargers were timid iin the second half while the Raiders came out to have a 20-8 run with 6 minutes and never looked back. Gabrielle Root who got was slightly banged up in the first half, came back to hit three consecutive 3-pointers to put the Raiders up 43-37 with 2:22 left and never looked back.

In the Abraham vs Turner II, Abraham won it with 13 points and 23 boards and advanced into the next round of the tournament. Turner ended her career at the Thorpe House with 12 points, 12 boards and 8 blocks.

It was a season with all sorts of accolades and the Chargers would gladly exchange those for a victory tonight. Cypress ended the season with a 21-9 record, a conference title and five players making the All-Conference team.
