Warriors Stay Unbeaten in Conference with Win over Mounties

TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College stayed undefeated in conference play Wednesday with a 3-1 (25-20, 25-14, 23-25, 25-20) victory over Mount San Antonio at the ECC South Gym.
The Warriors (8-4, 3-0) cruised in the first two sets, leading the second set from wire-to-wire against the Mounties (3-10, 0-3). But the final two sets were a struggle as the Mounties edged the Warriors in the third set, outhitting ECC .333 to .250.
In the fourth, each team tallied 13 kills but the Warriors limited their errors while the Mounties committed six, which proved critical in a set ECC took by five points.
Mikayla Clark recorded another double-double for ECC as she went for 17 kills and 11 digs. Caitlin Donatucci dished out 38 assists. Ginia Goods and Jocelyn Lacroix each had eight kills while Kelly Donatucci had 16 digs to lead the defense.
The Warriors will return to action Friday night with a road contest at Rio Hondo. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
