Men’s Water Polo Takes Down Rio Hondo in Conference Opener

The Long Beach City College men's water polo team shined as they defeated the Rio Hondo College Roadrunners 19-7 on Wednesday afternoon in their South Coast Conference opener at the brand new Kinesiology Labs Aquatics Complex. With the win, the Vikings are 4-2 overall, and are 1-0 in conference play.

The Vikings' offense was firing off on the Roadrunners with Nicolas Fedotov, Michael Minera, Itay Batito, and Jake Leslie all scoring three goals each.

"We got the job done," said Coach Djoko Radunovic, when asked about their conference victory. Goalkeepers Blake Borders and Isaac Zabukovec both stood out in the cage with totaling 10 saves between the both of them.

The Vikings will return to action in the pool on Friday, Sept. 23 against Golden West in the Cuesta College Tournament at 8:30 a.m.
