On the strength of their 63-57 win over visiting El Camino College on Friday, the Cerritos College men's basketball team ended the regular season in second place in the South Coast Conference South Division. The Falcons (19-9, 7-3) will find out on Sunday where they have been seeded for the Southern California Regional Playoffs. Should the team be seeded in one of the top eight spots, they will have a bye in the first round, while a seed lower than #8 will have Cerritos playing on Wednesday.

With the lead going back and forth for the majority of the game, the Falcons broke a 50-50 tie when sophomore Justin Stephens (Gahr HS) scored on an offensive put-back with 9:21 left in the second half. Freshman Taeo Thomas (Verbum Dei HS) followed with a short jumper, while later in the half, Stephens gave Cerritos their largest lead of the game when he converted a three-point play with 4:23 left for a 61-54 advantage. The teams traded baskets the remainder of the game.

Sophomore Gorden Boykins (St. Anthony HS), who made 7-of-8 shots, led the team with 18 points and added five rebounds, while Stephens scored eight of his nine points in a five-minute span late in the second half and also pulled down four rebounds. Freshman Gary Williams (Dominguez HS) produced nine points and nine rebounds, with Thomas accounting for seven points, three assists and two rebounds off the bench.
