SAC Baseball Outlasts Folsom Lake 8-7 in a 15 Inning Battle on Day One of the State Championships

FOLSOM, Calif. - On day one of the 3C2A Baseball State Championships, the Santa Ana College Dons outlasted Folsom Lake in a 15 inning marathon to walk away with an 8-7 win.

It was an instant classic that went back and forth all game until the Dons finally closed the door after five hours of baseball.

Santa Ana had several guys step up in big moments but none more than sophomore outfielder Ryann Stock. The veteran out of Servite High entered the game in the ninth inning for defensive purposes but made all the difference at plate.

Stock went 2-for-2 with a go-ahead single in the 13th and the game winning homerun in the 15th.

Other notable performances came from Eddie Pelc and Hauze Fragoso

Pelc came up big when it mattered as he singled to help bring Christian Thompson home to take the lead in the eighth and doubled to drive in three in the 13th.

Fragoso was a workhorse for the first seven innings of the game, delivering one of his best outings of the season. The big right hander conceded just two runs (one earned) while striking out six Falcons.

The Dons will now face off against fellow Orange Empire Conference member, Saddleback College, in the winners bracket on day two. The Bobcats also had to go extra innings and defeated Sierra College 10-9.

First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m. and Santa Ana will be the home team.
