Softball Falls Short Against Santa Monica

Compton, Calif. - Sophomore Yazzmine Arrington-Edwards went 1 for 3 at the plate and pitched 3.2 innings not allowing any earned runs with three strikeouts, but the Compton softball team fell short against Santa Monica, 6-1, on Wednesday afternoon.

Freshman Angelica Musick drove in the only earned run for Compton, going 1 for 2 with a walk.

Frehsman Diamond Hackett, started the game for the Tartars and went 2.1 innings allowing two earned runs. Sophomore Cristina Valladares came in relief with a shutout inning.

The Tartars (0-1) head to Barstow (1-3) on Friday for a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.
