Men’s Basketball: Rio Hondo goes out with win over Pasadena

Steve Johnson's first season as head coach of the Rio Hondo College men's basketball team ended with a win on Friday night as the Roadrunners defeated visiting Pasadena City College 79-64 on Friday night.

Rio Hondo led 35-26 at the break and was up by as many as 19 points in the second half.

Four of the Roadrunners' five starters scored in double figures with Kenyatta Louder leading the way with 20 points while Jonathan Martinez, Anthony Rios, and Alexis Baron all scored 16 points each.

Elijah McElroy nearly joined the party with nine points, but grabbed a team-high eight rebounds to go along with five assists. Martinez led Rio Hondo with six assists.

The Roadrunners closed the 2017-18 season with a 7-18 overall record and finished in fourth place in the final SCC North Division standings with a 4-6 mark.
