Comets start two game homestand with a win

SAN MARCOS, CA (11/12/2019) – Palomar took on San Diego Mesa College and won 2-0.

The Comets and Olympians were in a stalemate until the 63-minute mark when Jessi Piazza scored on a penalty kick. Mesa got close several times to scoring, but Caleb Daza saved the goals from happening. In the 89th-minute, Christian Bahena scored the second goal on an assist from Shem Nikiza.

Jacob Stutzman was ejected from the game at the 51-minute mark when he received a red card. Stutzman will sit out Friday's game. Nikiza received a yellow card in the 88-minute mark. That was his fourth card of the season.

Palomar moves to 8-7-5 on the season and 4-4-3 in conference play. The Comets end conference play on Friday when they host MiraCosta College at 3 p.m. on Minkoff Field.
