The Cerritos College men's basketball team saw their season come to an end Wednesday night, as they dropped a 69-54 Southern California Regional Playoff loss at Antelope Valley College. The Falcons (16-11), champions of the South Coast Conference South Division, were seeded #19 for the post-season and had to travel to Lancaster to face the #14-seeded Marauders (20-8).

It was a tight affair through the first half, with Antelope Valley scoring the final five points to take a 34-27 lead into intermission. They received a pair of free throws from Michaelyn Scott and a three-pointer from Daviyon Draper with five seconds to give the Marauders their seven-point advantage.

It was a Draper three-pointer to start the second half that put Antelope Valley up by 10 points, which was the start of a 9-2 run for the first two minutes. Cerritos would not be able to get their deficit under 10 points, and were victimized by 16 turnovers on the night.

No Falcon scored in double figures, with sophomore forward Marquise Washington (Westchester HS/Cypress College) leading the team with nine points and added seven rebounds, while freshman forward Terence Traylor (Dominguez HS) hauling down a game-high 12 rebounds. Traylor finished with six points, while sophomore Anthony Holliday (Norwalk HS) was limited to a 3-for-13 shooting night and had seven points and four assists. The Marauders were led by Dwan Caldwell and Vadal Faniel with 16 points each, while Draper (11 points) and Scott (10 points) contributed a balanced scoring attack.
