SBCC guard Tejon Williams has been named Athlete of the Week by the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table. The award was presented at Monday's weekly press luncheon of the SBART and goes to the top male performance of the week for all the high schools and colleges in the Santa Barbara area.
The 6-1 freshman from Lancaster High recorded season highs of 28 points and 16 rebounds on Saturday night, leading SBCC to an 85-80 men's basketball upset of first-place Cuesta in San Luis Obispo.
Williams made 9-15 from the field, 2-3 on 3-pointers and 8-9 from the free-throw line. He also had four assists.
For the season, Williams is averaging 14.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists.
The Vaqueros will host Oxnard on Wednesday and Moorpark on Saturday with both games starting at 7 p.m.
