Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play opened with two dominant wins for the Spartans.  They played College of the Desert and San Diego City College at the Civic Center Park in Palm Desert.  In both matches MiraCosta swept their opponents 5-0, showing how deep and balanced their line up can be.  With the two victories the Spartans position them in first place in the standings. The improve their overall record to 6-2.
