After relinquishing their lead in the sixth inning, the Cerritos College softball team responded with four runs in the seventh inning for a 7-4 win at Santa Ana College on Thursday. The Falcons (2-1) will look for their third win in as many days when they host Palomar College at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

Down, 4-3 heading into the top of the seventh inning, sophomore second baseman Alyssa Sotelo (El Rancho HS) led off with a single and stole second base. With two outs, sophomore shortstop Miranda Diaz (California HS) reached base on an error. That opened the door for the Falcons, who scored four runs before recording the final out. After the error, sophomore designated player Maddy Guillen (La Puente HS) singled up the middle to drive in a row, while a second error of the inning plated Diaz. Freshman Jimena Delgado (Fullerton HS) then stepped up and drove in two with a single.

Sophomore Richere Leduc (California HS), who started the game in the circle, was reinstate to pitch the seventh inning. She retired the side in order, including a pair of strikeouts, to earn the save. On the day, the Falcons threw four pitchers, with sophomore Samantha Islas (Roosevelt HS) earning the win after one inning of work.

Sotelo led the offensive attack with three hits and stole three bases, while Diaz and sophomore third baseman Brooklyn Bedolla (Mayfair HS) each had a pair of hits.
