Bobcats tame the big cats

The Saddleback women's volleyball team picked up its first win in Orange Empire Conference play on Wednesday with a 3-1 win against Riverside City College inside the Saddleback Gymnasium.  The Bobcats cruised past the Tigers to improve to 5-2 overall.

Saddleback looked solid on Wednesday, bouncing back from a loss in their OEC opener last week.  The Bobcats received sensational performances from Sydney Brown, Logan Daniels and Jolie Robinson while keeping in the middle of the pack in the Orange Empire Conference standings.  Brown was a force on the outside, racking up 26 kills while collecting 10 digs.  Daniels was responsible for 47 of the 52 assists on the night while Robinson had 15 kills, 11 digs and four block assists.

Saddleback cruised to an easy win in game one when they streaked past the Tigers for a 25-14 win.  Riverside turned the tables on Saddleback in the second set when they jumped out to a big lead.  The Bobcats would battle back but eventually fall 24-26 to tie the score at 1-1.   Saddleback methodically clawed past the Tigers in the final two sets, winning 25-21 and 25-22.

Saddleback has the rest of the week off before hosting Golden West College next Wednesday.  The Bobcats and Rustlers are set to start at 6:00 PM inside the Saddleback Gymnasium.
