Lee's Layup With 12.5 Left Lifts City to Victory Over Grossmont on Sophomore Night
The Knights finished their season on a high note after edging Grossmont, 67-66, on Wednesday with sophomore Jazmine Lee putting in the game-winning layup with 12.5 seconds left. Aliyah Milner led the Knights with 22 points, seven rebounds, and six assists as they improved to 12-16 overall and 3-9 in the PCAC.

Sophomore Alissa Wolfblack came close to a triple-double on Sophomore Night with 11 points, 14 rebounds, and a season-best seven assists. Sophomore Jasmyn Wolfgramm added eight points, four rebounds, four assists, and five steals in the win.
Lee totaled six points, eight rebounds, and three steals, while freshman Karla Mendoza provided 15 points, eight rebounds, three blocks, and three steals off the bench.
The Knights led by as many as 11 points late in the second quarter, but the Griffins, who were led by Leanna Watson's 17 points, cut that down to 39-34 by halftime.
City regained a 50-39 lead after six straight points from Mendoza midway through the third quarter, but it would not last as Grossmont responded with 15-2 run to go ahead, 55-52.
The game was tied, 55-55, going into the fourth quarter and it remained close for the rest of the game. There were six lead changes in the fourth quarter, the fifth of which came when Watson gave Grossmont a 66-65 lead on a layup with 1:13 remaining.
Both teams missed 3-pointers on their next possessions and Milner grabbed the rebound on Grossmont's miss, dribbled into the front court, and found Lee down low for the layup that put them ahead for good with 12.5 seconds showing on the clock.
After each team took a time out, Milner stole the ball from Watson to seal the win.
Milner had four steals on Wednesday night and the Knights totaled 25, which is their second most in a game this season. Their high of 28 steals came against Barstow on November 3.
San Diego City outrebounded the Griffins, 55-41, and had a 30-16 advantage on offensive rebounds.
