Women’s Basketball advances to CCCAA So Cal Finals with 83-52 win over PCC

(Walnut, CA)The Mt. SAC Women's Basketball team advanced to the So Cal Finals on Saturday (Feb. 25) with a convincing 83-52 win over visiting Pasadena City College in the second round of the Regionals. The victory improved their overall record to 22-7 and marked the 15th time in 16 competitive seasons that the No. 3 Seed Mounties have reached the So Cal finals.

Sophomore guard Kamesha Moore led the way with her second-highest point total of the season, scoring 29 points on 13-18 shooting, along with two 3-pointers, five rebounds, six assists, and seven steals. Teammate Jamya Mickens added 23 points, while Briana Lizardi and Dailani Richardson contributed 10 and nine points, respectively.

The Mounties started the game strong, leading the Lancers by 10 after the first quarter (25-15) and extending the lead to 38-24 by halftime. Moore led the Mounties' first-half effort with 21 points. The Mounties kept up the pressure in the second half, outscoring the Lancers 45-28 to secure the win.

Mt. SAC will now host No. 11 Seed Riverside City College this Saturday (March 4).

  • $8 for students/faculty/staff/seniors (60 years of age and older) with ID
