The West Valley women's soccer team stayed in the thick of the NorCal playoff chase with a 0-0 tie against Foothill Saturday at Dick Schwendinger Field. The Vikings (9-8-2, 6-3-1 Coast-South) couldn't convert some early scoring chances, but were able to thwart a furious Foothill (8-5-5, 4-1-3) attack in the closing minutes to preserve the tie. Sophia Ulloa picked up her fifth shutout of the season as she turned away four Owl attempts. The Vikings close out the Coast at Cañada (6-6-5, 6-4-0 Coast-North) Nov. 12 at 12:30pm. The regular season ends with a non-conference home game against Hartnell (10-5-6, 6-2-3) Nov. 15. Kickoff is 3pm.
