The MSJC volleyball team picked up back to back sweeps in their past two matches as they defeated Victor Valley on the road and San Bernardino Valley at home.

The Eagles traveled to Victorville this past Friday and came away with a 25-8, 25-9, and 25-13 sweep of the Rams.  Mckenna Conklin led the offensive effort with a match high 12 kills as MSJC dominated from the open.  Kennidy Martin and Audrey Underwood chipped in with 6 kills a piece while Alicia Vasquez and Trysta Vincelli split the setting duties as they collected 14 and 13 assists.  Brooklynn Thomas led the defensive effort with a team high 9 digs.

On Wednesday the Eagles returned home and made quick work of San Bernardino Valley as they swept the Wolverines 25-10, 25-17, and 25-16.  Conklin once again led the charge with 11 kills, Martin was next with 9, and Vincelli knocked down 7.  Vasquez dished out a match high 20 assists and the Eagle defense at the net was solid with 1 solo block and 8 block assists in the victory.

The two wins set up some big matches for the Eagles as they approach the stretch run of the regular season.  This Friday October 28th the Eagles travel to Chaffey for a showdown with the Panthers.  MSJC has defeated Chaffey twice this season both times in 5 set matches.  After a non-conference  match with Pasadena next Wednesday the Eagles will head to College of the Desert to take on the IEAC leading Roadrunners.  Currently MSJC is one loss behind Desert in the IEAC standings and one loss ahead of Chaffey.

The Eagles are 13-9 overall on the season and 6-1 in conference play.
