MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: REACHING BEYOND COMETS

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: REACHING BEYOND COMETS

In a non-conference match, the FC men's volleyball squad notched a 3-1 home-win over Palomar College on Wednesday night.

The first two sets belonged to Fullerton as they cruised to 25-20 and 25-21 wins. Set three looked like a possible three-game sweep for the Hornets, but the Comets had other plans. FC was up 24-20 and ready to close out the match, but Palomar ripped off seven straight points to steal the set 27-25. The Hornets pulled off a close 25-23 win in the fourth set to finish off the match.

Leonardo Mazuco led FC with 14 kills, 8 digs, and 5 aces. Miguel Cortez and Ezekiel Vaielua both helped out with 9 kills each. David Lucio brought down 7 kills. Hunter Wong-Hin had 10 digs, while Noah Lourenco handed out 39 assists, 7 digs, and 4 kills.

Up Next: Fullerton (4-4 overall) hosts San Diego Miramar College this Friday night (Feb. 28th) in the North Gym at 6:00 pm.
