Trevor Hammond (2-3) pitched well on Tuesday, and got six runs of support in the first frame at Ventura College on Tuesday afternoon.
The Condors scored six in the first and four more throughout the game to get a 10-9 win in WSC North play. The win moved OC to 2-2 in conference, while the loss dropped the VC Pirates to 0-4.
Sophomore standout, Raul Sandoval reached base four times, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs. Austin Maciel drove in a pair as did Nicholas Wolfrey and Taylor Tractenberg.
Oxnard continues to struggle in the field, making three errors throughout the game.
Game two of the three-game series is at Oxnard College at 2:00.
